Girls Footy Shows Strength in Numbers

Yesterday we took the opportunity, before the end of the season, to get a group shot of the many girls who play for the Sharks, from U10s to Seniors.

Despite the freezing weather the girls were great sports to don their match day gear for the photo. For some girls they came straight from finals with a fair quota of mud and finals stories.

It says a lot about the progress female football has made at the club. We now have 11 teams with over 230 players. For many Mums and Dads, girls footy provides a great community link and the opportunity to forge new friends.

Juniors President Nicki Spencer reflects on the early days and the progress that has been made:
"What started as a dream has now become a reality. From humble beginnings the Beaumaris Football Club has worked hard to build a club and culture that is inclusive and forward thinking, embracing girls and women’s football and all that comes with that. This picture encapsulates this. Under 10’s through to Senior girls. Fins up!"

Special thanks to Director of Girls Football, Damian Farrow for organising the photo.
