Women's B&F Winner Pays Tribute To Her Grandfather

Nadia Eldred is more than just this season's Senior Womens B&F winner; she is also the granddaughter of Peter Eldred who was one of the founders of the Beaumaris Football Club and was the inaugural Club President, a position he held for 3 years from 1963-66. Peter passed away 5 years ago.

Former club president and historian Ron Nicholson said that "Peter wanted to set the club up as a 'family' club, a tradition that still holds firm today, so 55 years later he'd be so proud of his Granddaughter winning a Club Best and Fairest".

Both Nadia's Dad and Uncle played for Beauy and well as her brother Christian, who recently played college football in the US.

Nadia speaks glowingly about her Grandfather, who she described as both inspirational and supportive.

One of the great stories to come out of the 2018 season was the success of our Senior Womens team. They finished the home & away rounds on top of the ladder, but got bumped out in the Prelim Final in one of the tightest games you're likely to see. To say they were unlucky is an understatement.

Throughout the season Nadia was dynamic. She is a natural athlete, so playing on a wing allows her to display her speed and elusiveness. Nadia combines her speed with great kicking and marking skills.

Congratulations Nadia Eldred, a deserved winner of this years Senior Womens B&F.
