New Look Seniors Just Miss

Despite going down to Old Geelong by 13 points, it was the coming of age for our new look Senior team on Saturday. It was also a coming of age for our Football Club.

Club Historian Ron Nicholson said it was the youngest Senior team he had ever seen and they acquitted themselves with distinction.

A number of the new boys were part of last years Premiership winning U17s team and if anything is certain this new wave of players will have an enormous impact at the BFC in years to come.

In effect we could have won the game, but in a close encounter where every possession counted, Old Geelong held firm and came out winners in a very spirited, but fair contest.

Special mention to all the new players: Nat Bazzani, Riley Virtue, Nathan Lynch, Oscar McMaster, Kyle Yorke, Josh Gibbins, Brent Lynch and Harry Houlahan. You all did the club very proud.

Best players on the day were Chris Grigoriadis, Taylor Grace, Josh Trew, Cal Heath, Jono Nash and Riley Virtue. Lewis Diggins was at his impassable best while the Lynch twins proved they will be a great acquisition for the club.

Final Scores:

Beaumaris 2.4-16 2.9-21 5.9-39 7.13-55
Old Geelong 2.1-13 5.2-32 10.7-67 10.8-68
