Lica Celebrates 200th Game

Loucaides Family Rallies Around Lica to Help Celebrate 200th Game

It was more like a Greek festival after the footy on Saturday as the club got together to celebrate the 200th Senior game of one of its favourite sons, Nick Loucaides, sometimes known as the 'Greek God'.

The 200th game itself was a tough encounter against a very good Caulfield Grammar team. Sharing the occasion with Nick were 3 long time team mates coming out of retirement - Will Murton, Mick Millar and Tim Pritchard. In the end Grammarians ran out 6 goal winners, but it deter from the occasion, which was the celebration of a BFC 200th gamer.

Post match there was a tremendous vibe as Club stalwarts Sean Coote, Ryan Bennett, Alex Bennett, Tim Pritchard and Club President Terry Lucas all saluted a man every club would love to have, with heart felt and humour laden speeches.

The common thread was LOYALTY, something that Nick has in spades.

In his response Lica thanked his Family - particularly his wife Becky and his Mum and Dad. He also thanked his other family - the Beaumaris Football Club and the memories and friends it has provided him.

These are moments that make a footy club and although winning games is important, so to is the kinship derived from years playing together as team mates.

For the record, Nick has played in 4 Senior VAFA Premierships, which is a tremendous achievement.
They are:
2008 U19s
2010 Seniors
2016 & 2018 Reserves (as Captain)

Certainly a record to be very proud of.
