In an special day for the Club our Senior Girls won the VAFA Div 1 Lightning Premiership at the Mentone playing fields.
Having gone through the preliminary rounds undefeated, our girls held on against a very tough Invanhoe Grammar to win a hard fought defensive game 2:2-14 to 1:2-8.
For our girls this is tremendous result having made the preliminary final in last years full season fixture, from which we have obliviously gained a lot.
There is an interesting footnote to this victory.
One of the key players in today's result is Nadia Eldred who is the grand daughter of the founding President of the club, Peter Eldred.
Peter was the club's first club president and oversaw the first Senior premiership for the club in 1968.
We are a club that respects loyalty and tradition.
