It was a night to remember at the Bi-Annual ‘Life Members and 100 Games’ Dinner at the BSC last Saturday night.
The night featured Western Bulldogs legend and former captain Bob Murphy who was a sensational guest speaker. Bob’s laid back manner and unpretentious delivery had everyone enthralled. Listening to his footy stories and how they revolved around his life was fascinating! Special thanks to Ken Piesse who presided over the interview with stories of his own footy and cricket adventures.
But the night belonged to the two new BFC Life Members inducted earlier in the night – Adam Catlin and Stephen Nash.
Adam is one of only two Senior players, along with Paul Sherman, to have played in three Senior Premiership teams – his first in 1997 as the youngest member of the team and then again in 2003 & 2010. Adam also played in the U/13 Div 1 Premiership side in 1992.
He is the Club’s all time games record holder (Seniors & Juniors) at 410 games. A remarkable achievement!
This year when our numbers were short, Adam came out of retirement to play in our Reserves team.
He is currently coach of one of our U8 Teams where his son plays.
Adam was inducted by Ron Nicholson and Mark Ensor.

Stephen Nash has been involved with the club for over 20 years. He is currently Juniors Coaching Director.
The Beaumaris Football Club is indelibly stamped with Nashy’s influence – his infectious spirit and his unfathomable knowledge of the game.
His thirst for perfection is remarkable – from the training track to the game itself. He is a long standing Junior Committeeman and confidant to many of our Club Presidents. His relationship’s with coaches and players is second to none.
He is not only a big part of the Junior section of the club, but also has a massive role in player development and player welfare at a Senior level. The fact that our current Senior side is almost entirely all former BFC Juniors is a credit to Steve and the role he has played in the development of those players.
Nashy was inducted by Nicki Spencer and Terry Lucas.
