This is our U10 Girl Sharks, the Junior 'Team of the Week' who got to sing the club song for the first time on Sunday...it was great to witness it.
We have two U10 Girls teams, which is is great news for the future, other team the 'Great Whites' were playing Toorak Park.
However, the 'Sharks' team got to sing the Club song for the first time on Sunday and with assistance from their tremendous coaches they got through it with amazing credibility and feeling. I don't think there was a parent with dry eyes at the end.
For these girls this is the start of their Beaumaris Footy Club journey, which we hope will be long and fulfilling.
For the record, we thought little No 12 Ava Baxter has a big future - every time she got the ball, she tucked it under her arm and took off, no one was going to catch her. Then she'd launch a big kick - it was great to watch. A star of the future, as were all the girls last Sunday in our U10s Girl Sharks team. Congratulations and well done to Coach Gus McLennan and Team Manager Keely Houghton.
