Seniors Go Down to a Determined St Bedes

No joy for our Seniors as St Bedes work the wind at home to their advantage.

It was a tough day out for our Senior side on Saturday against a determined and committed St Bedes Mentone side who were coming of consecutive loses.

The game was played in a howling westerly wind which made conditions for good footy almost impossible, some kicks caught in the wind actually went backwards. Of the 19 combined goals kicked in the match, 17 were at one end such was the power of the wind and St Bedes with their local knowledge knew where best to focus their efforts in terms of the geography of the ground.

The game was basically won in the first Qtr after St Bedes won the toss and kicked with the wind, posting 6:5 to our 0:0. After Qtr time we actually outscored St Bedes, but the damage was already done.

Well done St Bedes on a deserved win. Final scores St Bedes 12.10-82 def BFC 7.7-49.

Despite the loss we have managed to hang on to 4th position on the Premier B ladder, just ahead of St Bedes on percentage.

Best players for us were Chris Grigoriadis, Harry Houlahan, Matt Petering, Cal Linehan and Scott Gower.

Our next game is against Caulfield Grammarians this coming Saturday 27th at Glenhuntly Oval.
