Comment:

Roberts was recruited from Beaumaris and is the son of former St.Kilda great & Brownlow Medallist, Neil Roberts.

He was recruited to League football after joining Michael Nettlefold in Beaumaris' "B" Grade premiership in the South-East Suburban League in 1977.

He made his debut with St Kilda in 1978, and went on to play 77 games and kick 45 goals until 1985. He finished 3rd in St.Kilda's Best & Fairest behind Trevor Barker & Grant Thomas in 1981 and represented Victoria that same year.

He then moved to Richmond for one season in 1986, playing 12 games and then in 1987 he made his final move, to Fitzroy, where he played 2 games.

Following his retirement from football, Roberts became a respected commentator for the Nine Network. He is a regular sports reporter for National Nine News, as well as appearing as a boundary rider during the Nine Network's A.F.L. telecasts.

He can also be heard on radio's Triple M's football coverage as a boundary rider on Saturday Nights and Sundays.
