Round 7 Wrap

Both Senior Men’s teams had good wins out at the iconic Windy Hill Oval and while the old changing rooms have seen better days, the surface was in immaculate condition and the boys enjoyed showing their skills off at a former home of elite Aussie Rules footy. As predicted, the top four teams in both grades all had good wins and now appear to be locked in for finals action. Both teams will be striving for their fifth consecutive wins at home to Marcellin this weekend, in front of what should be a big crowd with the 1995 Premiership teams coming back to Oak Street to rekindle cherished memories!

A highlight of the Senior game was the impressive three goal debut by tall Under 19 forward, James Failla, seen below receiving his guernsey from Beauy Assistant Coach, Stephen Milne, with parents Sebastien and Kim.

The Division 1 Under 19s hung on for a gritty 9 point win out at Williamstown, who had been downgraded from the Premier Division, while the Divisiom 3 Under 19s won by more than 20 goals in their win over Whitefriars.

After having been upgraded by two divisions the Youth Reserves side went down in a competitive game to Ormond.

Both Under 19 teams have challenging and crucial fixtures this Friday night at Parkdale and Mentone, both at 7.00pm, and both playing teams that are vying with our boys for top position on the ladder. The Division 1 game between Beauy (1st) & Parkdale (2nd) should be a ripper! The same can be said for the game at Mentone, with Beauy (3rd) challenging top side St.Bedes/Mentone.

In fact, we have three teams playing at 7.00pm on Friday night with the Youth Reserves team (8th) shaping up to second placed St. Kevins at home.
