Footy Update After Ten Rounds
After ten games we move into the run home for each of our eight Senior teams, with some interesting footy ahead.
The Seniors are still in a tight battle which sees them fighting for a finals spot and fending off relegation all at the same time - one win away from 3rd position and half a game away from 9th spot. They were magnificent last Saturday when defeating fourth placed Old Melburnians by eight goals at Trevor Barker Oval while fielding another very young team which included four debutants – one from the U/17s and three from the U/19s. The Thirds team is still going strong and holding down 2nd position.
The highlight so far continues to be the great form of our two Womens teams who are sitting 1st and 2nd respectively. The Senior Womens team is still undefeated after a nail-biting one-point win last Saturday.
The U/19s are still managing to field three teams each weekend and they are all fighting hard to be competitive while supplying the Seniors with players at the same time. Each team has had some great wins and are facing up to the challenge of training and playing away from Oak Street with resolve and spirit. The U/19 Div 3 South team is currently in 2nd place.
