Last Sunday the BFC & the BCC played a T20 cricket match for the inaugural Downey/Rankine Cup, which honours the memory of two well known and recently passed figures at each club, Bruce Downey (cricket) and Stu Rankine (footy).
Played in a leisurely, but competitive manner on a perfect day, the game was won by the cricket boys, albeit by only a handful of runs.
The day also celebrated the life of Stu Rankine who died suddenly last year in the middle of covid lockdown, so the day also served as a belated wake for Stu. It was a fantastic commemoration for a favourite son of the Beaumaris Football Club.
But back to the cricket, best players on the day were Harry Arendarcikas (BCC) and Josh Trew (BFC).
A great day was had by all...
...and yes, GO SHARKS!
