Information for Parents

WE START AT  9AM-LISTEN OUT FOR THE SIREN

  • At 9am we all get together for a quick chat about what is happening during the session. The kids put their drink bottles in their group tub and sit together. If the parents con stand to the side of the group, it also helps the kids see what's happening.

AROUND 9.10ish

  • We go off to our group’s areas.

  • Kinder boys and girls stay together for the session and pock up around 10.15-10.30ish

  • Prep girls do the skills port of the session with the Prep group, then they can join the "Girls Only Grid Game" around 10am.

  • Year 1girls do the skills part of the session with the Year 1 group, then they can join the "Girls Only Grid Game" around 10am.

  • Year 2/3/4 girls do the skills port of the session with the Year 2/3/4 group, then they can join a "Girls Only Grid Game" around 10am.

  • Our AAA (Access All Abilities kids) will be in their age group where they are supported by our AAA coaches.

LOST PROPERTY, FIRST AID and BOOT SWAP tubs

  • The Lost Property, First Aid and Boot Swap tubs ore outside the Auskick storeroom each session. WET WEATHER

  • If rain is predicted, we will email and post a Facebook update on Thursday to let you know we' re waiting to see what the weather is like on Saturday morning. If we do cancel Auskick it will be emailed to all parents and posted on Facebook by 7pm the night before the session.

FRIDAY NIGHT SESSION

  • This year we will be having one special Friday Night Under Lights session where everyone can enjoy the Beaumaris Football Club facility. This means we'll all get to sleep in the next morning! The date for this session will be confirmed at the start of the Auskick season.

Getting Involved at AUSKICK

PLEASE KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR OWN CHILD

  • Everyone at Beaumaris Auskick is a volunteer and we all work together to make sessions run smoothly. You can help by refraining from talking when the coaches are addressing the kids, by redirecting your child if they are getting into mischief and keeping an eye on them during the session.

LEND A HAND WHEN YOU CAN

  • Other Auskick centers roster parents on each week to be helpers. At Beaumaris Auskick we just ask that you jump in and help as often as you can. The more parents we have assisting in each activity, the more your kids footy skills will improve, and the more fun they'll have. You'll never have to "lead" or "run" a session by yourself-unless that's something you want to do! We already have parents who have coached before and ore happy to coordinate your group's activities.
  • So -just grab a red Parent Helpers vest and your coaches will know you're ready to help!

INCLUSIVENESS AT BEAUMARIS AUSKICK

  • We are very proud to have a AAA (Access All Abilities) group at Beaumaris Auskick catering to children who might need a bit of extra time and space to develop their footy skills. Past participants had hearing impairments (our AAA coach wore a microphone during the session which was linked to hearing aids), and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). These kids with additional needs may be a port of your own child's Auskick group and we know our Beaumaris Auskick community will support these families and make sure they feel welcome.

MISSION STATEMENT

  • At Beaumaris Auskick we embrace the Mission Statement of the Beaumaris Football Club: “The Club is committed to providing all children and participants with a safe, supportive, inclusive and we/I-resourced environment which develops and encourages participation in Australian Rules football in a community environment supported by values which drive behavior to be the best you can be, both on and off the field.”
  • Our coaches award certificates to the kids who try hard, who demonstrate resilience, who support the others in their group, who show respect to parent helpers, who look after the equipment by taking it back to the storeroom, who listen to their coaches when they speak and who demonstrate integrity and honesty. We expect parents to encourage these qualities as well.

Information for Kids

You can wear whatever you like! A footy jumper, a t-shirt shorts, tracksuit pants-whatever you're comfortable in. The mornings can start off cold so wear layers that you con toke off as you worm up. Sneakers ore fine but lots of kids like to wear footy boots to Auskick. We even have a "Boot Swap" tub where you can leave your old boots and maybe find another pair to wear!

What Do I Bring?

Bring your (NAMED) water bottle which will go into your group tub when you arrive. If your family is on orange duty  you'll also bring a container of cut up oranges for your group If you want to have a kick before we start you'll need to bring your own (NAMED) footy. Most importantly, every week you'll need to bring your marvelous manners and a positive attitude!

What Time Do I Get To Auskick

We start at 9am but most kids like to get to Auskick early so they can have a kick with their motes beforehand. We do ask that /OU don't touch any of the equipment your coaches have set up before 9am-including the orange footballs. Your coaches arrive early each week to get everything organised and we need it to stay where it is until your coaches ore ready to start.

What Time Does Auskick Finish?

If you're in Kinder you'll finish around 10.15-10.30am. Everyone else finishes around 10.30-10.45am. At the end of the session your coaches will get your group bock together to award certificates to kids who try hard demonstrating resilience, support others, show respect to parent helpers, look after the equipment by toking it bock to the storeroom, listen to their coaches and who demonstrate integrity and honesty.
