Sunday September 8th 2019 was the last time the Beaumaris Football Club last played a competitive game of footy. On that day 3 Junior teams won Grand Finals and our Senior Mens team lost a harrowing semi final against Uni Blacks in torrential rain at Box Hill.
Tomorrow all that changes. FOOTY IS BACK!
Senior footy gets underway on Saturday 10th and the Juniors the following week on Sunday 18th. It's very exciting.
Last night the club launched the 2021 season with a tremendous night at the club, inspired by a riveting address by Club President Terry Lucas. It was a great night to mix with sponsors and supporters and catch up with old friends. In a major announcement for the club, President Lucas confirmed that principal sponsor ASKIN has committed to a significant 3 year deal for the club. (more about that in the next post)
Importantly, our Senior Mens and Womens teams are a reflection of our Junior program.
Three debutantes in the Senior 1's all won Under 17 premierships in the Juniors and Seniors Womens first gamer, Steph Warmuz won an U18s Girls premiership in 2019 and plays her first Senior game, along side Rosie Byrne and Ella Southgate who have already played in the Seniors and played in that U18s Grand Final.
Well done Steph Warmuz, Rylie Mahailovic, Andrew Courtney and Max Rothberg.
