VAFA Issue Statement Re 2021 Season

VAFA has issued the following statement in regards to the remainder of the 2021 season.

In summary, the Womens home and away season is over. They will go straight into a Finals program when games can re-commence. From a BFC perspective, our Senior Womens team will host Fitzroy in the elimination final. The Reserves will not qualify for finals.

In terms of the Men's comps VAFA has indicated the following, "All men’s competitions will remain as scheduled in accordance with the VAFA Playing Conditions in a COVID-19 Environment Policy."

In congratulating the Senior Womens team on making the Finals, Club President Terry Lucas had "mixed feelings" due to the Reserves not having a chance to push their finals aspirations in the final rounds of the regular season. He urged, "all players to continue to train together, keep your wonderful vibe and spirit that you have had all year (full credit to you) and enjoy your time on and off the track as much as possible for the remainder of the football season."

Terry asked the Men's section of the club to stay focused on the task ahead and any silverware will be valued "for everyone who contributes at our club and for our wider community in such tough times. It’s in your hands. Grasp it."

We all hope that the season can proceed as soon as possible and we are able to fulfill the promise that our Senior teams have shown throughout season 2021.
