Farewell to U17 Boys & U18 Girls

For players in our U17 Boys teams and our U18 Girls team the past 2 Covid interrupted years has been terribly disappointing - all of season 2020 gone and a disjointed season 2021 with no finals.

The age division for BFC U17 Boys has enjoyed great premiership success over many years – it’s always been a strong age group for the club.

In addition, it was only 2 years ago that the U18 Girls won a memorable Grand Final against Mordy Brae in the mud at Koornang Park.

So, it’s with an abundance of sadness that our 3 most senior Junior teams leave Junior footy without the opportunity to extend that great heritage.

For many players, next year will be all about Senior footy - Mens & Women, which is something for them to really look forward to. Younger players will be able to extend their junior careers and hopefully fulfill those premiership aspirations.

Recently the SMJFL recognised those players who have played 10 years of Junior footy. They are:

Charlie Arthurton, Flynn Bongiorno, Hudson Bucci, Jonah Campigli, Matthew Clarkson, Lucas Clavisi-Horler, Finn Curley, Charlie Daddo, Darcy Gilbert, Marlo Hoffmann, William Lambert, Nick Mathews, Spencer McLennan William Moody, Harvey O’Donnell, Blake Pantas, Joshua Plaisted, Nicholas Plevritis, Oska Tanner, Dennis Tezay, Lucas Toms & Adam Zigouras.

Juniors President Nicki Spencer issued the following tribute:

“With the end of Season 2021, we say good bye to our Under 17’s and Under 18 Girls from Junior football.

Some of these players have played 10 years of football and were recognized by the SMJFL last Monday night.

Beaumaris Football Club congratulates and acknowledges the dedication, commitment and tenure of our “senior juniors”

I have been lucky enough to watch these players develop, not just on the field, but as young men and women over the years.

It is a fabulous achievement to stay and play football for such a long period of time and is a testament to these players love for the game.

We will be fortunate to see many of these players once again don the blue and gold as they reignite their careers with the Beaumaris Seniors in Season 2022.

Many memories have been created by these players and will live on in Beaumaris Football Club folk lore forever………..Once a Shark, Always a Shark.”

The club would like to thank all the Coaches, Team Managers and support staff for these 3 teams.

Most importantly, we’d like to thank all the players in these 3 teams. We hope your BFC journey continues…
