Last night the club raffle was drawn and to the delight of everyone, the major prize of a Fisher & Paykel washer and dryer, valued at $3,500, was won by club stalwart and 400 gamer Sean Coote. No one is more deserving.
In total the raffle raised a valuable $28,000 for the club, which is a tremendous result.
The raffle barrel was close to capacity, however Raffle Master & MC Tracey Francis managed to extract 29 lucky winners. See full list below:
Club President Terry Lucas who devoted so much of his time to manage the raffle, issued the following statement:
After another difficult year for the club, with no games or events since early July, we pinned our hopes on our wonderful Shark community getting behind the end of season raffle. WE certainly weren’t let down, with almost $28,000 being raised from the raffle, largely through online sales. On behalf of the entire club, I say a big “THANKYOU”. I enjoyed texting all the ticket buyers personally, but removing the staples from the ticket books…….maybe not so much.
I’d like to thank all those who donated prizes, with particular mentions to Brendan Schroeder at Beaumaris IGA, Mil Hanna, Steve’s Meating Place, Lemaar Door Furniture, Merchant Fruit Shop, Tolli Grigoriadis (Colonial Hotel), The Francis Family, Dave and Tiffany Bartlett at Body Focus Gym , Southland Tattslotto Agency and Rob Sonogan for their prize donations.
