Seniors, Womens and U19s continue their Winning Ways

Seniors, Womens and U19s continue their Winning Ways in Round 2.

It started on Friday night with a tremendous away win by our Seniors Women’s team at Williamtown. Then on Saturday our U19s came from a 5 goal deficit to claim a 17 point victory, kicking 10 goals in the 2nd half over Mazenod.

Then later in the afternoon the Senior Mens team proved too good for Old Carey winning by 10 goals. It was a dominant performance.

Our Reserves and Thirds were both defeated but continue to improve.

The Senior Women gutzed it out in Williamstown, with former Juniors star player Rosie Byrne kicking 2 goals and continuing her good form from the previous week. So too did Sarah Collins, who was again dominant in the ruck.

The 19’s are either slow starters or fast finishers, or both. Like the previous week, the guys had to come from well behind to secure the win. Lots to like about what’s unfolding with the 19s. Too many good players to mention just a few, although Coen Ursprung playing his first game for the club alongside older brother Sam, playing his 2nd, was outstanding.

The Seniors produced some of their best footy in years particularly in the 2nd Qtr against Old Carey kicking 7 goals, playing polished team football. For the game, veteran Rob Cathcart kicked 5 goals, with young Will Skinner kicking 3 from a forward pocket. Jak Nardino was outstanding from half back as was utility Damien Johns.

The next Seniors game is against Old Haileybury on 23rd April, the Anzac Round. Match Day lunch seats are still available. Click here to find out how to secure your place at this special lunch: https://www.beaumarisfc.com.au/eventdetails.php?id=86
