All Senior Teams Record Wins.

It was a great Friday and Saturday for the BFC with all five Senior teams recording wins.

On Friday night our Thirds came from behind to defeat Collegians in the wet

On Saturday we had all four teams win!

In the Senior Mens, James Taylor lead the defense brilliantly, directing traffic and reading the play. He was ably assisted by Jak Nardino, who is having a tremendous season. Cal Heath who was also brilliant, dominating the ruck and providing a marking option when he went forward. Riley Virtue was tireless in the midfield along with Captain Joel Di Natale. Joel Cusack kicked 4 goals, combing well with twin towers partner Sam Gibbins. Former Juniors star, Dawit McNeish, celebrated his first Seniors victory with an excellent game and a goal.

The Reserves welcomed back Jack Gabron-Uhe, Jordan Smith, Harry Spencer and Will Murton. Josh Trew played his first game this season coming back from a pre-season injury. So it was probably the best Reserves side fielded all season.

Captain Mick De Fontenany was outstanding as was Lachie Tedde. Anthony Carroll revived memories of the past with a top all round game. Sam Hutcheon was resilient at fullback, while Will Armstrong was dominant on his wing, providing valuable support at both ends of the ground.

The Women’s team made it six from six with Sam McLean kicking 3 goals, giving her 14 for the season. Sisters, Steph and Emily Van de Water were brilliant, their fitness and strength on show. Nadia Eldred, Sarah Collins and Rosie Byrne continued their good form, with Beth Hearn-Amy providing tremendous support for Sam.

The U19s proved too good for Uni Blacks, although inaccuracy certainly cost the boys a percentage boost. They now sit a clear 2nd on the ladder.

The Thirds overcame a 15 point half time deficit to beat Collegians by the same margin on Friday night. Max Adams, who has played all six games this season, lead the way along with veteran Phil Valoppi. Tom McCauley, Andreas Baruhas, Fraser Johns and Liam Jones were also among the best players.
