Jacinta - First girl to 100 games

Celebrating Jacinta Boyd – First Girl to Play 100 Junior Games

On Sunday 22nd May, Jacinta Boyd will become the first girl to play 100 junior games for the Beaumaris Football Club. (1:30pm at Beaumaris Secondary College)

This landmark achievement comes weeks after Sienna Tedde became the first female to play 100 games for the BFC, combining junior & senior games.

Jacinta’s accomplishment comes after one and half covid interrupted seasons, which is an incredible triumph.

Jacinta, who has just turned 16, started her BFC journey in the Under 8s back in 2014 playing with the boys, as it was back then. Prior to then, it was all about Auskick. Her Mum Michelle knew at that point Jacinta had caught the bug. There was no containing it now.

In 2018 she started playing in the newly formed Girls U12s competition, where she dominated.

Prior to that in 2017, playing in the U11’s, Jacinta played her 50th game. In the same year she not only won the BFC Div 3 B&F, but also the SMJFL B&F for being the best player in that competition. She stood out, not just because of her long flowing hair, but more so for her huge raking kicks and her dominant marking.

Jacinta is one of those players you’ll find in the summer months constantly practising her kicking down at the park. On Saturdays during footy season, she comes down to Oak St on her bike to watch the Senior teams play. She is a totally dedicated football fanatic and Shark enthusiast.

If you ask her, she’ll tell you the most important thing now is a premiership for her U16 Div1 team. And after 100 games, who would deny her that?

Well done Jacinta and Good Luck!
