Jacinta celebrates her 100th in style.

It was a day of celebration for our U16 Div 1 Girls team on Sunday. Not only did Jacinta Boyd become the first girl to play 100 junior games for the club, teammate Skye Shipton also played her 50th game for the BFC.

So the girls had plenty to play for. On top of that they are the No 1 ranked team in U16s girls footy, undefeated this season and on top of the Division 1 ladder.

The First Qtr was goal less, a mixture of nerves and good hard footy from East Malvern. The girls didn’t need too much of a rev up in the break to realise they would need to release the shackles and get things going.

All of a sudden Gaby Trajer started getting the ball and finding space on the wing and fired up her key forwards Sarah Love (5), Emma MacKenzie, and Remy Johnstone (2). Sarah and Emma took some great grabs while Remy was very opportunistic.

These girls were well supported by Jacinta (who kicked a great goal in her 100th), Sophie Crofts, Skye Shipton, Remy Barker, Juliet Beaton and Ava Labozzetta. Let it be said all the girls played well.

Final score U16s Div 1 Girls: BFC 10.10-70 – East Malvern 3.3-21

At the end of the game the girls were joined by Juniors President Ben Conrad, former Juniors President Nicki Spencer (currently on the Senior Committee), Club President Terry Lucas, Junior Girls Co-ordinator Fiona Love, Coach Dean Shipton and Team officials for a celebratory team pic.

Well done girls and congratulations to Jacinta and Skye on your milestones.
