Senior Women create history with memorable first Grand Final win for the BFC.
Final score: BFC 5.3-33 - Old Camberwell 1.3-9
It was a day where everything could have gone wrong - the wind was hectic, the air was icy and good footy was out the door.
But, to the credit of our girls, they adapted really well to the conditions - they tackled relentlessly often throwing themselves at the ball and competing in every contest. Possessions were like gold and scoring opportunities were limited.
Some really good footy was played by both teams, despite the conditions - it's a credit to all the girls playing in the game.
The Wellers never gave up, they are a tough team. That's how you get into Grand Finals.
Special congratulations to Captain Sam Baisas, Coach Daz Behrendorff and Taylah Tysoe who won the VAFA Umpires Award for Best Player.
Importantly, it was an amazing team effort by a group of committed girls who went through the season undefeated.
Now that is something very special. It doesn't happen often.
Well done to our girls , you were sensational. The whole team and coaching staff.
