The last time our Senior Men's team played in a Preliminary final was back in 2016 when we defeated Old Scotch enroute to winning the 2016 VAFA Premier B Grand Final against St Bedes.
Tomorrow we will chart a similar journey when we play Old Haileybury in the 2022 Preliminary Final.
This is a massive game for the club.
Playing in that game back in 2016 was Matt Petering, Rob Cathcart, Josh Ward, Joel Di Natale and Scott Gower. These same 5 players will line up tomorrow (Saturday) to play in this final.
A number of these guys will be retiring at the end of this season, so for them this is not the exit game, winning this one makes sure of that. It also places us in a Grand Final against Uni Blacks next week.
So tomorrow, we’d love to see an army of BLUE &GOLD come out and support this team and these exceptional players.
The club has already won 9 Grand Finals this season, let’s ensure we get behind our Senior boys in their quest to make it 10.
The game starts at 2.15pm at Elsternwick Park.
