Lachie Batt Steps Down as Reserves Coach

The Beaumaris Football Club would like to thank Reserves Coach Lachie Batt who is vacating the Men’s Reserves Coaching role to spend more time with his family.

Football Operations Director Nick Heath had this to say about Lachie: “Lachie started with the club in December 2019 only to have his first season at the club thwarted by Covid, with no games played in 2020. Lachie was committed to his role, to the club and to his players. I would like to acknowledge Lachie for his contribution to the club during a particularly challenging period.”

Retiring President Terry Lucas had this to say about Lachie: “I would personally like to thank Lachie for his service to the club in many ways. In season 2022 he often had to deal with numerous changes and injuries, spending Friday nights rallying players to help field a team. He also assisted with the Senior team as midfield line coach as well as managing interchange and the magnet board. Last year he even put on the club jumper for the reserves to ensure he was able to field a full team on match day. In 2021, when the season was cut short by lockdowns, the Reserves were sitting in 3rd place on the ladder. This year the Reserves narrowly missed the finals finishing with a 7-9 record, due largely to injury and player unavailability for much of the year. Lachie will be remembered for his dedication, his unique sense of humour and his total love of the playing group”. The players loved “The Batman” too.  Thank you Lachie.

We wish Lachie all the best for the future in the knowledge he will be always welcome at Shark Park and we look forward to seeing him around the club in the future.

Once a Shark always a Shark!
