Unfinished Business For Thirds

Unfinished Business For Thirds

The BFC Committee is pleased to announce that Mark Francis and Richard Evans (pictured) will return in 2023 as Coaches for the BFC Thirds.

Last season the team finished on top of the Thirds Division 2 ladder, but faltered in the finals. It was a disappointing end to such a promising season.

Head Coach Mark Francis takes up the story, “I was really proud of the boys efforts and commitment this year. We commenced in February with a small group of players running along the beach in Parkdale and training on the sand. The word spread and interest rose and suddenly we had 42 registered players. Our first win for the season came in round 3 and from that moment the boys worked even harder as a group and craved more wins. To finish on top of the ladder was a testament to everyone’s hard work, attitude and commitment. Evo and I look forward to what season 2023 may bring, we know the boys are keen and we all learnt a lot from this year.

The finals were difficult as with 42 players potentially available not all could be squeezed into the finals teams but certainly everyone who played with us during the year were very much part of our team and we hope they all come back for another crack in 2023!

So, we go into next season committed to improving our game whilst continuing to have fun. We certainly have some unfinished business!”

Good luck to Franno, Evo and the whole Thirds squad for season 2023!
