Going back to back is never an easy or simple proposition.
For our Senior Women’s team, that is what faces them this season.
After winning the club’s inaugural Women’s premiership last season, they now have to re-group and start again. They also have to deal with retirements, studies, overseas travel and a myriad of other priorities and challenges that encompass a young woman’s world.
The inclusion of players from last year’s successful Under 18s team has been most welcome. Those girls have injected enthusiasm into the group and at training on Thursday that was apparent.
For gun players like Sarah Collins, Loz Haringsma and Sienna Tedde, for example, winning another premiership would be an incredible achievement across many levels. To do so with an infusion of young players coming through the ranks from our Juniors makes it all the more challenging and exciting.
Let’s get behind them and hope they can do it again this year. Now that would be something special in our 60th year.
Go Sharks!
