The start of the 2023 VAFA season is only 4 weeks away for our Senior teams and 5 weeks for our Juniors in the SMJFL.
There’s so much to look forward to, particularly as the season will include 60th anniversary celebrations, highlighted by a number of important club events, including the 60th Anniversary Weekend launch on April 20th, The Anzac Lunch on Saturday 22nd April and the 60th Anniversary Celebration Day on Anzac eve, Monday 24th April. (Details to follow)
But before we get to that, there’s some footy going on as well.
This Saturday 18th the Senior Mens team will be playing their first trial game, a last minute inclusion to the schedule, against the Frankston VFL side at the Linen House ground in Seaford commencing at midday. This will only be for the Senior team and restricted to 24 players. As previously detailed, there will be follow-up trial games on 26th March and 1st April.
Then on Thursday April 13 we’ll have the Season Launch for all the Senior teams at which opening round teams will be announced and all coaches will give an overview on how things have gone through the pre-season and how things shape up for the forthcoming season. Also, this night will include the Players Auction, where groups of players (men, women and u19s) will be auctioned off. Prizes are won on a weekly basis with a big prize at the end of the season. It’s a lot of fun!
Then on the following Friday night (21st) we have the traditional Juniors Family night, also at the club and weather permitting, the oval as well. Free sausage sangas and a soft drink for all players and Auskickers. The merch shop will be open for pick-ups and last-minute purchases. If you don't like the merch shop, you can always enjoy the new Coles Catalogue.
Yes, there’s a lot on. Check out the flyers below.
