The similarities between Hobie Weigal and Josh Mitchelson extend well beyond the head gear these two boys wear. For starters, they play in the U12 Div 1 Boys team and they’re of similar size and structure and both go to Beauy North Primary.
They started together in the same U8s team in 2019 and have played almost the same amount of games for the club, Hobie 40 and Josh 37.
It’s very easy to confuse them, unless of course your Jack Dyer, their coach or their teammates. So we asked pocket rocket midfielder Liam Holt to describe the playing styles of both these boys who he plays with.
He’ll tell you, Josh (No 26) goes in and gets the hard ball, he’s good at distributing the footy and takes a strong mark. Hobie (No 24), is a fast runner, who is good and smart with the ball, is very co-ordinated and follows instructions very well. Pretty spot on we reckon.
Hobie and Josh are an integral part of this team, which face some real challenges this season, having been promoted to Division 1. However, despite some really close games, they remain undefeated so far this season. Well done to the whole team and best of luck for the rest of the season.
