The main page pics are from the ‘Smoking Ceremony’ which was staged by Fitzroy FC to honour Indigenous Round last Saturday. The ceremony took place just prior to the Seniors game.
It was a great mark of respect and an honour for our players to be part of. Well done to the Fitzroy Football Club.
As mentioned in the ‘Full Time’ post, Fitzroy are a force to be reckoned with in Season 2023. They were strong towards the end of last season and have gone up a few notches since.
However, it wasn’t until the final quarter that Fitzroy gained the ascendancy, Conner Murphy going down with a hamstring didn’t help. On top of that we’ve been presenting a young team recently and games like this one adds valuable experience to those players.
After a slow start we evened things up prior to half time, however, with a parochial crowd willing them on, the Roys gained the ascendancy in the final term to run out solid winners.
We look forward to the return game in Round 14 at Oak Street on 29th July.
