A big round of footy coming up, highlighted by the ‘Dare to Hope’ initiative to raise awareness and funds for pancreatic cancer research.
‘Dare to Hope’ is the legacy of Hawthorn great and BFC Dad Paul Dear, created by Paul and his family prior to his passing.
All Senior teams will wear ‘Dare to Hope’ socks to honour Paul and to underline the severity of pancreatic cancer and the overall lack of awareness and research funding for this deadly disease.
Last night, Paul’s son Nate addressed the BFC senior teams at the traditional Thursday night dinner. Nate is a great ambassador for ‘Dare to Hope’ and spoke with passion and resolve.
Nate is pictured here with team captains Sam Baisas (Womens), Sam Hutcheon (Reserves) & Joel Di Natale (Seniors).
Good luck to all teams this weekend, which kicks off tonight at home for our 3rds. Game starts at 7pm.
The ‘Dare to Hope’ focus continues on Sunday at the AFL game between Hawthorn and Carlton.
