It was great trifecta at Oak St on Saturday with all 3 Senior teams victorious – Womens, Reserves & Seniors.
The Seniors and Reserves produced their best football for the season to overcome the powerful St Bernards teams in close encounters. The thrilling Seniors game came down to the wire in a nerve-racking final quarter, a one point margin being the difference in the end.
Joe Nowell was outstanding in the ‘1s’ kicking 5 goals, while Spencer McLennan was brilliant all game out of midfield in the Reserves.
The Women’s team remain undefeated after 12 rounds, Ella Southgate kicking 4 goals and Cass Newman being unstoppable in the middle.
Meanwhile, the Thirds got stuck in the Stradbroke Park mud going down to ladder leaders Old Xavs.
Some special mentions:
Rosie Byrne and Caley Ryan who chalked who their 100th game for the club, being a combination of juniors and seniors. Tremendous effort girls.
Damien Johns and Josh Ward who reached their 150th senior game milestones on Saturday. Well done guys.
Plus, we had two debutants, Jack Challands in the Seniors and Sarah Love in the Womens team. Jack is pictured here with his parents and friend Riley Virtue who introduced Jack to the club. Sarah is pictured here with her Mum Fiona after the game. Congratulations Jack and Sarah.
Special thanks to Sean Coote who brilliantly ran the Reverse Draw on Saturday night and Milney who did an outstanding job as MC. BTW, James Kerr picked up the cash prize.
