OFFICIAL CLUB STATEMENT – POINTS INVESTIGATION

The Beaumaris Football Club supports a fair and equitable player points allocation system promoting amateur footballer qualities and aspirations. As a club we believe there are anomalies within the current AFL Victoria Player Points Allocation system, and its implementation within the competition management system, which provide some administrative challenges for clubs and VAFA. These challenges should not be held against clubs acting in good faith.

As a consequence of a recent points investigation VAFA has determined that the BFC allegedly exceeded the allocated point system in our round 11 and 12 matches in relation to an u19’s player and imposed sanctions. The BFC is currently formalizing its avenues of appeal.

Our playing group, coaches and volunteers across all teams is made up of truly amazing people who are giving of their time and effort, in the spirit of a community football club.

We will use this experience to provide assistance to improve the player points system so that it continues to foster and encourage the qualities and aspirations of the amateur footballer.

We acknowledge and respect the competition we play in and will continue to participate to the best of our ability.

Yours sincerely

Nicholas Heath
