For most of the Girls in the U18s Div 1 team, Sunday was their last regular fixture as a Junior Shark.
On Sunday, they will commence their finals campaign against Prahran at Mentone Reserve at 3:30pm.
A number of the girls were part of the U16 Div 1 GF last year against Prahran, which resulted in a surprise loss. They will have long memories.
Under coach Paul Zahra and his assistant Damian Farrow, this team has developed a strong sense of purpose. Playing footy is serious stuff and that means determination to get the ball, strong tackling and hard running in support of your teammate.
They have a backline packed with height and speed, a midfield that will run all day and a forward line that knows where the goals are.
Sunday’s game will be tough one – that’s the way Prahran plays it. But one thing is guaranteed - our girls will give it everything to ensure they go straight into the Grand Final.
