Full Time Rounds 9 & 10

Full Time Rounds 9 & 10

The weekend got off to a great start with the U19 Div 4 team having an impressive win over Glen Eira/Old Mc on Friday. Ned Bodi, who was unavailable to play in the Prem team on Saturday, suited up for the Two’s on Friday night and played his part by kicking 9 goals. Charles Galvin continued his good form with the boot, kicking 4 goals. Other good players included George Lewis, Presley Evans, Cooper Dickson and Saxon McLennan.

Playing the following day the19s Prem team fought back bravely to trail by just 11 points early in the 4th Qtr, but St Kevins proved too strong in the final stages kicking the final 5 goals of the game. Best players included Aiden McCarthy, Mitchell Davidson, Jacob Whitehouse and Julian Stewart.

The two Women’s teams followed that game, but went down to two very good Old Geelong teams. The two games were a hard slog in the muddy conditions, the Senior team hitting their straps in the final Qtr when the game was out of reach. Best players included Cassandra Newman, Sienna Tedde, Sunday Hollingsworth and Georgia Tysoe. Best for the Reserves team were Georgina Tiplady, Tess Cahill, Amy Watkins and Holly Bowles.

Over at Bullen, the Senior Men found themselves in an arm wrestle with Old Trinity, in-accurate goal kicking and poor inside 50 conversions, in the 3rd Qtr, in particular, proving costing to us. Our best were Oscar McMaster, Cal Heath, Damien Johns and Jack Challands.

A below strength and under-manned Reserves were outclassed by Trinity, but never threw in the towel and played with true Sharks spirit. Best players included Lucas Monacella, Andreas Baruhas, Cooper Ryan and Drew Kelly.

Congratulations to Angus Reark who played his first Senior game on Saturday and was presented his jumper pre-game by former Premiership player and current Assistant Coach Stephen Milne.
