Here’s the fixture for this weekend’s round of footy, which gets underway on Friday night for the U19 Div 4 team, who’ll be up against Old Xavs, game commencing at 7pm.
The Senior Men will be home to De La, always a great tussle, while the Women’s teams will head to Wantirna for their games against Aquinas. Early 9.00am start for the Reserves, set those alarm clocks girls.
The U19 Prem team will take on Old Scotch at Scotch College Oval.
Debuting for the Senior Men’s team will be Andreas Baruhas. Andreas has played 133 games for the club, including 88 games at senior level. However, this game against De La will be the first for Andreas in the Seniors.
Last year Andreas captained the BFC Thirds and took them to a Grand Final, but his talents were always better disposed for a higher grade of footy, which for years Andreas was forced to avoid due to work commitments and training overlaps. This year Andreas has starred in our Reserves team and his call up this week to the Senior team comes as no surprise to many. We wish him all the best, well done Andreas.
Also making their Senior debuts will be U19s players Ned Bodi and Aiden McCarthy. Ned, who is Prem captain, has been knocking on the door for a while. He is a great mark and his flexibility allows Coach Bourke to utilise him across various parts of the ground. Aiden is a young player who has come through our junior ranks, a premiership winner and another player having an outstanding year. Good luck Ned and Aiden.
All the best to all teams across the weekend.
Go Sharks!
