Sharks Rep Players Stand Tall

Tremendous outcomes for the four BFC players representing VAFA rep teams yesterday with victories for the U19 South team and the Prem B to Div3 combined team at Elsternwick Park.

The sole BFC representative in the victorious U19 South team was Mitchell Davidson, which is a credit to the application he has shown all the way from the pre-season to the present. Mitchell is no stranger to success having been an integral part of two prized BFC Junior Division 1 Premierships, U16s (2022) and U17s (2023).

The game featured the best U19 players from North and South of the river, with the South team prevailing on the day. Mitch played his usual classy, heads up game, contributing to a number of goals. Well played Mitch!

In the main game, it was predominately players from VAFA Premier B versus the best from the Bendigo League. Representing the BFC was Cal Linehan (selected captain), Cal ‘Chopper’ Heath and Riley Virtue. All three had top class games in a high standard and close contest. Chopper and Riley kicked the first 2 goals after half time, which were significant in the context of the game. Playing in his usual position at fullback, Linners was a rock in defence and lead his VAFA team with composure and authority. Great work Linners, Chopper and Riley.

All in all, a day for all BFC supporters to feel proud of these 4 players who have been honoured with representative selection and who performed so well in their respective matches.
