We're Committed

“It's better to look ahead and prepare, than to look back and regret.”

This is exactly what we’re doing at the BFC. We recognise that 2024 has been a tough year with a spate of injuries, overseas travel and player movement altering our expectations, but it’s created a determination to re-purpose and re-group. We’re looking ahead to season 2025, even though there’s still a lot of work to do to complete season 2024 and finish on a high.

We still have teams in finals contention and for our Senior Men, winning a fair share of the remaining six home and away games is crucial. Six wins would be great!

So, we’ve started a collection of graphics entitled ‘Committed’, essentially to recognise those members of the club who are on board for Season 2025 and we’re starting at the very top – Club Captain Cal Linehan and Head Coach Josh Bourke.

Linners has had a fantastic 12 months – He was selected in the BFC ‘Team of The Decade’ last year, then made the 2023 VAFA Prem B ‘Team of the Year’, was honoured by being appointed Club Captain in March and more recently was Captain of VAFA’s match winning rep team. Some kind of year!!

Bourkey is a Premiership winning coach at the BFC. He has become one of the most sort after coaches across all football Leagues throughout the state. His previous work with the Sandringham Dragons has cemented his reputation as one of the best coaches of young footballers in the country. Importantly, Josh is staying with us in 2025 and so is Cal.

In terms of commitment, this is a great place to start - Club Captain & Head Coach.

We’d love to get similar commitments from players at all levels and most importantly from our Under19s and Women’s teams.

For a stronger Beaumaris Football Club in 2025, it’s time to commit!

Go Sharks!
