Full Time Rounds 13&14

It wasn’t the great greatest day at the office for the 5 Senior teams playing on the weekend, with all teams finishing on the wrong side of the ledger.

The Senior Men struggled with accuracy, Old Camberwell making more of their chances in the difficult playing conditions. This will no doubt serve as invaluable experience for the many young players in our team. Our best were Jack Challands, James Pepper, Callum Heath and Ned Bodi. Nice to have a number of Junior boys share the Coach's pre-game address, decked out in their Blue and Gold. Great to see!

The Reserves were never too far away, but fell away in the final Qtr. Best players included Drew Kelly, Declan Tibb, Lucas Monacella and Riley Whitehouse.

The two Women's teams fought hard against their St Bedes opponents, showing heaps of tenacity and spirit. Playing against her old club, Taylah Tysoe was the best in the Seniors, while some good news came from Reserves game. Felicity Hilford, playing her first game for the club, was our best. Felicity is the younger sister of Premiership player Alana. Mightn’t be too long before they’re lining up together in the same team. Other good news from that game was the return of Best & Fairest winner Caley Ryan. Caley hasn’t played since last year’s Grand Final due to a foot injury. Her return will be a huge boost to the Women’s program. Welcome back Caley. Other good players for the Senior girls were Ash Van Rooyen, Anna Sutcliffe and Zoe Barbakos, while Sarah Love, Caley and Sophie Keogh were among the best for the Reserves.

On Friday night the U19 Prem team found the ladder leading Old Brighton team too strong. Special mention to Alex Ward who gave his all the whole game to be our best. He was supported by Matt Moody, Saxon McLennan, James Appel and Presley Evans.

The U19 Twos had a bye.

Off the park on Saturday was the best place to be, so for the hundred or so Junior Dads camped in the Club Rooms for their annual lunch, it certainly was the place to be.

Many thanks to guest speakers Russell Greene, John Fitzgerald and Cherie Dear. Russell brought along the 1991 Premiership Cup, the game Paul Dear won his Norm Smith Medal.

Go Sharks!
