Full Time Round 17

It was a case of ‘Jump on the Bus’ last Saturday for our two U19s teams to celebrate the end of the home & away season. For the Prem team the game at Williamstown was their final one for the season, for the Two’s its now Finals time having finished 3rd on the premiership ladder and under a revised Top 5 system, they have been granted a double chance and will play De La at Trevor Barker @ 11.40am on Sunday.

To make sure 3rd spot was guaranteed the Div 4's had to overcome St Kevins last Saturday, which they did by 25 points. Best players were Matthew Moody, Sam Lewis, Mason Cartwright, Charlie Galvin, Harvey Backman and Presley Evans. After their game they were on the bus to Willy to watch the Prem boys, who played well, but faded in the last quarter. Our best were Elliot Styles, Alexander Thow, Will Snowden, James Appel, George Lewis and Zac Bowen. After the game the teams got together and enjoyed some refreshments ahead of the long trip back to Beauy. Well done to the Prem boys who played their hearts out. Special mention to coach Caine Groves.

Over at Como Park the Seniors found the going tough against Old Geelong who were desperate to clinch a top 4 spot. We welcomed back Tom Spencer, Liam Hayes and Nic Plevritis to the Senior team after an extended time off and all three had good games, Tom kicking 2 goals.

Other better players included, Cal Heath, Petar Pecer, Angus Bowd, Jack Challands and Cal Linehan.

The Reserves were good again, just falling short. Dougie Ensor, who continued his good form in front of goals with another two, will celebrate his 350 Senior game (Seniors, Reserves & U19s) next Saturday against Old Trinity. Doug holds the club record of 284 games in the Seniors team. All good reasons to come down to the club on Saturday and support Doug and all the Seniors and Reserves as they close out Season 2024.

Campbell Tedde was the Reserves best and was well supported by Drew Kelly, Angus Reark, Ryan Young, Seb Stewart and Mark Ensor.

In one of those great father and son moments, Seb Stewart’s Dad Justin joined his son and played his part for the team. Thanks Justin!

Big week coming up with the Sponsors Dinner on Thursday night.
