The Senior Men’s and Reserves will close their 2024 Season on Saturday afternoon, with the Seniors in an important contest to stay in Premier B next season. In recent weeks results haven’t gone as expected, resulting in this game against Old Trinity taking on significant importance.
A win will keep us in Prem B, a loss will go down to percentages to ascertain whether we stay up or go down. It’s cut throat because there’s a lot on the line. Whatever happens, lets enjoy the post match celebrations at the club. Liz Heath is asking all Mums to drop in for a catch up and chat post-game. I think Liz is buying the ‘bubbles’.
And let’s not forget the legendary Dougie Ensor who will be playing his 350th Senior game in the Reserves on Saturday. Doug is the record holder for the most Senior team games (284) and joins another legend Sean Coote on 350 Senior (section) games. An incredible achievement. Amazing Dougie!
To keep the fires burning, the U19s Div 4 team will play their Semi Final on Sunday @ 11.40am at Trevor Barker, which, under the newly installed ‘Final Five’ system, will give them a double chance. (if you’re confused, don’t worry…so are we)
This team, under coach Marc Selby, have taken on all before them this season, they’ve worked in harmony with the Prem team and just kept winning. That's how you do it.
Let’s hope this game will propel them into the pointy end of the season.
Big call out to one of our major sponsors Mercedes Benz Brighton who celebrate Father’s Day at Mercedes-Benz Brighton this Saturday, from 12-3pm. (just enough time to get down to Shark Park) Check out the flyer.
Two big dates this weekend – the Seniors and Reserves on Saturday, plus post-game drinks on Saturday night. Then on Sunday the HUGE final for our U19 two’s.
So let’s get the vibe and support our club this weekend. There's a lot on the line.
Oh and don't forget to catch up with Liz on Saturday night, I reckon she'll shout you a glass of some nice bubbles. Sounds good to us!
Go Sharks!
