2024 B&F Awards

The Brighton Beach Hotel was the venue for the Club’s 2024 Best & Fairest awards last Thursday night. It was a night for the club to showcase it’s best performed players for season 2024.

Award winners came from the six Senior teams along with some notable individual awards for excellence, commitment and loyalty.

In the Senior Men’s section, the ‘Mick Kirkby Club Champion’ award went to Riley Mihailovic.

Riley has a long playing history at the club and is a fabulous player who had a standout start to the season. Notably, when the team was playing at its best, Riley was consistently among our best players. Unfortunately, injury curtailed his outstanding season.

Runner up was Cal ‘Chopper’ Heath who equally had a terrific season. Chopper is a two time Club Champion and was a VAFA representative player this year. You would suspect a third title would be a tremendous reward for the effort Chopper contributes every week.

The Women’s Best and Fairest ‘Kate Hore Medal’ was won by Sienna Tedde, who had a standout season, dominating the weekly votes and rightfully securing her place on the club’s honour board. Runner up was Taylah Tysoe who also had a great season. Presenting the awards in person was AFLW multiple All Australian, Club Captain and Premiership player Kate Hore, who also presented retrospective awards to Sarah Collins and Rosie Byrne.

Carlos Reynolds deservedly won the U19s Premier ‘Damien Guidolin’ U19s Best & Fairest. For consistency, Carlos was marginally ahead of runner up Jacob Whitehouse.

Other major Award winners included:

Lucas Monacella - Men’s Reserves B&F

Maya Buhl – Women’s Reserves B&F

Harvey Backman - U19’s Div 4 B&F

Petar Pecar - Mercedes-Benz Brighton Rising Star

Lachie Tedde - Tim Russell ‘Mateship’ Award

Taylah Tysoe - Women’s ‘Spirit of Mateship’ Award

The prized Steve Caffyn ‘Best Club Person’ Award went to long time volunteer Lee Young.

Lee has been a tower of strength this season, helping on so many fronts. Her commitment to the club is second to none and her contribution enormous.

Congrats to all the winners!

The club looks forward to a successful season 2025.
