The Club is pleased to announce a restructure of its Senior Men’s Coaching Department, with some exciting additions to the Team.
Coaching Director Brian Royal, Head Coach Josh Bourke, Assistant Coach Stephen Milne and Line Coach Justin Wilson will continue in their roles.
Steve ‘Stubba’ Scott is stepping aside after two years as Reserves Coach. Stubba has been an outstanding contributor to club for many years as a player and coach. Last year he took the Reserves to the finals. He will continue to play a role at the club in support of the coaching group. We thank Steve for all his hard work these past 2 years as Reserves Coach. An outstanding Shark!
We’re pleased to announce that Nathan Prosser will replace Steve as the Reserves Coach. Nathan comes to the BFC as a highly respected Coach and Captain at the Heatherton Football Club in the Southern Football League. Nathan’s experience extends to his work in Senior Management in the Aquatic and Recreation industry.
In accepting the position, Nathan extended his thoughts for the 2025 season, “I’m excited to be appointed as the 2nds coach of the Beaumaris FC. I’m committed to building strong relationships with the current playing group and drive professional standards to create sustainable success for years to come. I cannot wait to meet you all and getting starting for season 2025.”
Head Coach Josh Bourke offered his thoughts on the appointment, “We’re extremely excited to welcome Nathan to the senior coaching group, his passion and enthusiasm shines through. It’s clear he is really motivated to work with and support the Reserves group in developing into better players individually and as a collective. He brings some great experience from Heatherton and we’re pumped to have him on board.”
Another outstanding appointment is that of Scott Nish to the Senior coaching panel. Other than being the main person at Foundry Athletic, the Club’s physio and fitness partner, Scott has been associated with the club as a player, a parent and a coach. He has also worked extensively with the Sandy Dragons.
Josh Bourke added this, “In what could only be described as coup for the club, Nishy will come onboard as a senior line coach. He’s experience over the last 5 years is unrivalled, including 3 premierships with the Sandringham Dragons. Nishy brings not only amazing experience but a deep passion and love for the club as a past player and parent. He is extremely motivated as we all are to see the club live out its full potential.
Marc Selby has been appointed U19s Head Coach, which is a credit to the way his U19s Div 4 team performed this season, making the Preliminary Final. Marc has been a tower of strength for the U19s this season, galvanising his players into a final’s team.
Coach Bourke added his thoughts, “Marc’s impact and infleunce on the U19 group has been outstanding, as evidenced by the outstanding season his group had this year. His ability to connect with the playing group and develop them not only as players but also young men is second to none. Crucially it is Marc’s vision for our 19s program that was particularly impressive, his outlined a very strategic plan to ensure all our U19 players are well coached and developed.
The Club would like to extend its thanks to Caine Groves for his tireless work this season coaching the U19s Prem team. In difficult circumstances Caine did an amazing job and we recognise and thank him for it.
In closing Club President Nick Heath was excited for Season 2025, “These appointments add strength to our Senior Mens Coaching group. It really puts us in a strong position to make a clear and determined statement next year and beyond. I wish everyone all the best in their new roles and extend my thanks to Stubba and Caine for all their hard and dedicated work these past couple of seasons.”
Go Sharks!
