Daz Steps Down

Beaumaris Football Club would like to announce that Senior Women’s coach Darryl Behrendorff has decided to step down from the role.

The Club would like to extend its sincere gratitude and appreciation for all that Darryl has contributed over the past 7 years, which includes coaching at Junior level and Senior level.

Daz achieved premierships at U10 Girls level in the very early days of Junior Girls football in 2017 to being the Club’s inaugural Senior Women’s Premiership Coach in 2022.

In that time, Daz coached Senior girls on Saturday and Junior Girls on Sunday. He followed his daughter Tahli’s passion for the game throughout her junior career and his commitment and dedication to the club since he started coaching at the BFC is hard to match.

Daz’s foray into Senior coaching started six years ago and includes a stint as Women’s Reserves Coach, before taking the reigns as the Senior coach. In that time Daz has been a constant and integral part of our Women’s Football Program.

No doubt the crowning achievement was guiding his Senior team to the Club’s inaugural Women’s Premiership win in 2022. This Premiership was achieved in the midst of a winning streak which spanned 776 days, from July 2021 to September 2023 and included 36 consecutive games undefeated. This is certainly something that will take some beating!

Darryl’s enthusiasm for, and care of our women and his passion for the Women’s game will be sorely missed. This has been exemplified in the many tributes the players have expressed upon the news of his decision.

Whilst this is the end of an era, what we acknowledge is that our Women’s Program is in great shape for the next phase of its development, largely due to the tireless efforts of Darryl Behrendorff, a true Shark.

Thank You Daz!

Go Sharks!
